Regardless of which screen I am using in the UI, I want to filter results based the following concepts (when applicable). With that out of the way, my idea is as follows. This idea is not suggesting changes to nomenclature, but I want to clarify these terms to ensure the idea's intent is clear.įor instance, most people consider Hip Hop a genre (Spotify Category ID 0JQ5DAqbMKFQ00XGBls6ym) and if we look up an artist like Jay-Z (Spotify artist ID 3nFkdlSjzX9mRTtwJOzDYB), he is associated with the following subgenres that appear like so in an API request: Subgenres of music will be called Genre, again to match the API. In my idea description, I'm going to refer to high level music Genres as Categories as that is how the Spotify API presents that concept. ![]() While it is Library specific, I'd like to suggest a more pervasive set of UI filters.
